Scott Douglas' career began in 2006 after his completion of the Film Production program at Confederation College (Thunder Bay). In four short years since graduating, he has managed to put together an impressive body of work as an editor, compositor, motion graphics designer and director.
Scott interned at Dante Media Group where he cut electronic press kits for musical acts, and he also worked on numerous sets in various capacities before he returned to Thunder Bay to direct and edit corporate videos for the city.
Scott's return to Toronto came in early 2007 when he became the resident editor for Avia Productions Inc., the in-house production division for Dynasty Advertising and Communications, arguably Toronto's top mutli-cultural ad agency. Since taking up the challenge of being a busy agency's only post-production professional, Scott has worked on television commercials for clients such as Rogers, Bell, Tridel, RBC, Smuckers, Unilever, and a host other non-mainstream clients who specifically target Toronto's multi-cultural audiences. He also edited a 45-minute television special, produced by Avia for OMNI TV (Rogers), that was a collection of comedy skits shot geared to help teach non-English speaking audiences the meaning of odd English sayings (e.g. 'caught red handed').
As a freelancer, Scott has worked on several promotional projects for clients such as Random House, The Luminato Festival, Fastlane Networking Events and The Newmarket Eagles Cycling Club. Scott continues to work at Avia Productions as he pursues freelance work that will utilize and challenge his skill sets.
